Question : My abdomen has been swelling due to what i think is constipation, so i took a dulcolax suppository about 40 minutes ago and the only bowel movement ive had is some gas and mucus. Is this normal?
Brief Answer:
hi
Detailed Answer:
yes it is normal. If there is no content in last segment of bowel and rectum, then dulcolax will cause just bowel movements with mucous or fluids. Feces which is placed more proximally wont be defecated after duloclax. I suggest to try with high fibre diet, take lot of fluids and fruits, be physicaly active. if there is no imprivement you should do colonoscopy to rule out some specific bowel disorders. Wish you good health. Regards
