What Causes Gastric Reflux Post Heart Stent Placement?

Question: My uncle is in his mid 70's . He has had two heart attacks and has had four stints put into his chest. He has acute gastric reflux. He was in his hotel room a couple of days ago after visiting with his children. He suddenly became very restless and disoriented. He kept telling his wife that his car was missing ( he was staying overnight in a hotel, however he did have an RV parked in the parking lot. He was disoriented to the point where he was telling his wife to get away from him, as if he didn't know her. According to his daughter it took about an hour for 911 was called due to my Aunt being panicked over her husbands behavior. By the time EMS arrived he was able to answer questions as to person, place and time but not the event. My feeling is that he may have had a TIA and it had resolved over the time it took for EMS to be called. The EMS providers on the scene stated that he need do nothing more than relax and eat. The told him that it was simply a pinched nerve and left my uncle on the scene with no further instructions. What do you think?
