Question : It has been almost two months now that I am having this problem. I feel of balance, giddy, pain in the temple area at times it is severe, I feel tired and sleepy.

In the month of April, I had an infection in my left ear making the hole a little small. In my last visit, the doctor told me that he has treated the swelling and fungal infection, and asked me to do steaming as well. I got cured and I did not do steaming at all, however, felt that the hole of my left ear has got smaller than earlier but no pain at all.

Then two months back, I started feeling of balance, giddy, tiredness and pain in the temple area. I got my insulin test done, the physician told me that I have a tendency of having sugar in the future and some issue with insulin so he gave me a medication for a month.. Metsmall 500 but the problem still persists.
So 3 days back I went to the ENT and shared the issue with him, he said that this is possibly happening because of the ear infection. So he gave me Verbatim 8 mg + Azithral 500 + Allegra 120 mg. It has been 2 days now since I took these medicines but have hardly seen any difference. I also got my eyes check up done and things are fine. Also got my thyroid test done, it is normal.

I am very confused, tired and worried of this... Please help

Brief Answer:
not very sure it is due to ear infection

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

There are mainly 2 types of middle ear infections -
1) safe variety.
2) unsafe variety.

The unsafe variety can cause giddiness. It should be confirmed by your doctor.

Giddiness can be due to a variety of causes. Inner ear problems also frequently produce giddiness. BPPV is the most common cause of giddiness. All these have to be ruled out by your ENT doctor.

To control the gidddiness you can take tablets containing prochlorperazine. Talk to your doctor about it.
