What Causes Green Discharge From Belly Button?

Question: For a few years on and off, I have often had green discharge (puss) from my belly button. I have an innie, if thats what its called, and times that I've noticed the discharge is when there has been a foul smell coming from that area on my stomach. I have to actually put a finger in there, and every time theres a foul smell there's discharge or puss that is on my finger. I did have a surgery for an ovarian torsion back in 2009 which they removed my right tube and ovary since there was no blood supply to the area. They went in through my belly button and also the side of my stomach. The scar is small, not noticeable. I really haven't had a problem from the surgery but don't know if this is related or what it is from. Any ideas??
Brief answer...needs to be evaluated.
Detailed answer...
Hello,
Thanks for the query.
Your problem needs a medical attention and hence must consult the doctor.
This could be a simple case of localised infection or could be something complex like some foreign body or some suture left behind after past surgery.
It needs to be evaluate by getting a CT scan or MRI scan and culture of the pus.
Simple infection can be treated by antibiotics and antigungals but a surgical problem may require a surgical intervention.
You must consult your surgeon and discuss with him.
I hope it helps, however you may revert to me for any further query.
Best of luck
Thanks
