What Causes Groin Pain After Sitting For Longer Period?

default
Posted on Thu, 11 Jun 2015
Question: I am 77 and after sitting on my right buttock for a while I have very severe pain in my right groin and up and down my leg. It is bad enough to use a walking can and causes so much pain I actually cry. Lying down on my left side does ease the pain. It starts when i carry something heavy in my right arm or walk a short piece and only my left leg is envolved after several exploratory surgeries years ago, removing a blood clot and returning home wearing a bladder bad, and now I'm scared as hell--inside right groin and knee really swelled.

Brief Answer:
this can be due to venous clot.

Detailed Answer:
Hello
I have read your query.
This can be due to venous clot as you also have previous history of clot formation.
Colour doppler lower limb with CT angiography will help you in diagnosis.
Another common possibility can be due to spinal disc bulge leading to buttock pain.
MRI spine may help you in diagnosis.
Physiotherapy like ultrasound and Tens may give you relief from pain due to nerve compression .
I hope I have answered your questions. If you have further questions please feel free to contact us. I will be happy to answer. Take care.
