Posted on Thu, 2 Jul 2015
Question: I have a mole on my breast close to nipple that has always been there it has not changed recently but over the years it has got quite big and is pink and brown so two tone not sure if it has always been two toned and I would say the edge is uneven but my breasts have grown significantly since hAving a child so don't know if this would impact it. The mole is not painful and does not itch but occasionally gets a bit dry and crusty.

Attached is a photo.

Both breasts have grown equally and no nipple discharge. The mole has always been there but I honestly can't remember how big it was in childhood. I have had no recent weight loss.

Thanks

Brief Answer:
Ketoconazole topical application 3 times a day; observe response

Detailed Answer:
Hello once again XXXXXXX

Thank you so much for the information, I have also reviewed the attached image of the region in speaking.

I suspect either of the following:

+Fungal infection: Requiring the use of an anti-fungal cream which should easily be available over-the-counter; to be applied 3 times a day over a clean and dry surface

+Dry skin: Requiring the use of a good moisturising cream

+Ring worm: Commonly seen over the breast region with such a presentation and requires the use of topical application of ketoconazole 3 times a day for the next 14 days.

I would recommend initiation of ketoconazole cream application over the region and observing the response. If you seem to experience a response over the next 7 days, then please write back to me and continue the use of the cream for a while longer. Based on the progress over a period of 2 weeks, send me another picture and we shall decide for how long you will need to use this.

But if, within 7 days time there is no improvement then please write back to me and we shall take it from there.

I hope you find my response helpful. Please feel free to write back to me for any further clarifications, I am always here to help.

Best wishes.
