Brief Answer:
This might be a hemorrhoid. Consult proctologist.

Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Thank you for the query.

If there is no pain in the anus area, most probable reason of this lump is a hemorrhoid. Due to constipation, bad diet, lack of physical activity or just pushing hard on stool veins in the anal region get enlarged. Such enlarged vein creates a lump. Can be hard. If the blood clot appears inside, gets painful and swollen.
You may also notice trace of blood on the surface of the stool or on the toilet paper. There might be some itching around the anus and occasional whitish discharge.
As you are over the age of 50, and the hemorrhoid is a sign of how the intestine was treated through the years, it is time for your first colonoscopy.
With the colonoscopy result, you should consult proctologist and consider surgical removal of this lump.

Hope this will help. Feel free to ask further questions.
Regards.
