What Causes Headache After Pillow Blows To Head?

default
Posted on Tue, 15 Jul 2014
Question: My 10 yr old son was in a pillow fight 4 or 5 days ago with an older cousin and took some good blows to the head. He had a headache the next day but it went away and he seemed ok. Yesterday he started shaking his head a little from side to side and says it feels like his brain is rattleing around, and said its kind of felt that since the pillow fight. He said he hasn't felt dizzy or any nausea or anything like that and feels fine.

Brief Answer:
Post contusion syndrome

Detailed Answer:
Dear
I am sorry for the symptoms your son is suffering
I don't think the symptoms leads to any brain damage.
Symptoms seems those of post contusion syndrome, meaning that brain suffers but there is no damage.
I don't think there is any need to do other examination if no other symptoms are seen.
If you want to be sure then you can schedule a Brain CT scan and if it result normal you have nothing to worry.
Hope my answer helps you.
