What Causes Headache And Numbness On Left Side Of Body?

default
Posted on Thu, 26 Feb 2015
Question: Hi
I had a brain MRI 20 days ago due to left side body numbness, and it was NORMAL.
Turned out to be B12 deficiency so numbness now less.
But I get left side head strain not even headaches as it is not severe, in left temple and back of ear!
The ENT said I have deviated septum and MRI also showed blockage in nostrils with slight mucosal thickening of ethmoid sinus.
Should I then just NOT worry about brain tumor, as anxiety even though MRI is normal is stressing me out.
Thx

Brief Answer:
There is definitely NO brain tumor

Detailed Answer:
Hello. I have been through your question and understand your concern.

Head strain, even headache, has many causes, most of which are benign and self limiting. It is very important for you to rule out any serious condition which may affect the headache. For this reason MRI is the best test one can ever do to rule out such eventualities.

MRI is the examination of choice for such purpose, because it has an excellent specificity and sensitivity. It can definitely rule out brain tumours.

Since it was normal, it is 100% sure that you do not have a brain tumour. You can be totally sure for that. Do not worry. Just take the treatment for the mucosal thickening. You will be just fine.

Hope this helps. Please feel free for further questions.

Best regards.

Thx for the reply.
I feel better now.
Was just concerned as headaches started after a couple of days of MRI.
But that's what my Doc said too, not to worry about tumor anymore and stop reading too much on the Internet!!
I will continue my nasal spray treatment
Thx

There is nothing to worry about

Detailed Answer:
Hello. Just do not worry. Even that headache started after the MRI, it is definitely something not to worry about, because the serious conditions take time to develop. Besides, headache is a very common feature. So do not worry anymore.
