Brief Answer:
Simple painkillers such ibuprofen.

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thanks for using HCM.

I have read your question and understand your concerns.

Simple painkillers such ibuprofen, or paracetamol may alleviate your symptoms.

You can use for example 600 mg of ibuprofen three times/day for few days, if you are not allergic to it.

Avoid physical efforts, loud noises and cold places for a couple of days too.

In case that the CT scan was done too early after the trauma (a couple of hours), discuss with your Doctor about repeating it to evaluate/exclude late effects of trauma such subdural hematoma, cerebral contusions, that in rare cases are not visible in early CT scans.

Hope you found the answer helpful.

Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care.

I can call my GP for a follow-up CT scan. How long can I expect the headache? Any other recommended treatments?

Brief Answer:
If no improvement, stronger painkillers may be used.

Detailed Answer:
Welcome back.

Start with treatment mentioned before.

If there is no sufficient improvement, stronger painkillers such tramadol, diclofenac, etidolac etc. may be taken in consideration.

Hope this helps.

Greetings.

What is a typical length of time for recovery?
doctor
Answered by Dr. Dr. Erion Spaho (7 hours later)
Brief Answer:
Minimally a couple of weeks.

Detailed Answer:
Hello again.

Since the first CT scan was normal, I assume that concussion is the condition that is causing your issues.

In such case a couple of weeks are necessary for symptoms to subside.

In case of other damages such late hematomas. etc., the improvement takes more time ( few months ).

Wishing you good health.
