                                            Panic attack symptoms
Detailed Answer:
Greetings and welcome to HCM. I carefully read your query.
The symptoms you are describing are all indicative of a panic attack due to a anxiety or stress disorder. Rapid heart rate, congestion, headache, the feeling of the heart "jumping out of the chest or throat", are all symptoms of excess adrenalin in human organism circulation, which is secreted everytime one is having a panic attack or a simple fear. There is no evidence about why panic attacks occur, but there are certain triggers such as standing in crowded places, in narrow hallways, being alone etc. These are some of the common stressful events that may exacerbate a panic attack. Metoprolol is a good drug to control the heart rate. Therefore, I would recommend you to consult a clinical psychologist or a psychoatrist, so that a benzodiazepine could be added, in a short trial, to your therapy.
I hope my answer is helpful. I am happy to help, if you have any follow-up questions.
Kind regards,
Dr. Meriton
