Question : Hello,
I have a family member that has been suffering from a lot of pain lately. She has been recently been experiencing severe headaches, shoulder pain, and jaw pain. Recent blood tests have came back that she is possibly anemic. A few months ago her doctor told her she is borderline anemic. She has been taking painkillers as well as seeing doctors getting X-ray tests and blood tests. Is there any other possibilities? Doctors have yet to really give her anything or find anything that is leading her back to health.

The USA. This has been going on for the past month. First time. No accidents or trauma. The headaches started first. No MRI or ct scan only x-ray and blood tests. Headaches are worse at night and in the morning. Not a big history of migraines, this is new. Pain in the shoulders occurred out of nowhere a few days ago.

Brief Answer:
She needs a ct or MRI

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

There is no way to know over the phone what the reason for her headaches is but anyone with new onset headache and no prior history needs a ct or MRI. in the meantime the goal of treating headaches is to treat them before they happen. If the headaches always occur at night then take alleve (lasts 12 hours) and Tylenol 1000mg (lasts 6) before bed to try to prevent the headache from occurring.
