Brief Answer:
Throat infection. Undergo a pathlab test. Take antibiotics.

Detailed Answer:
Hi!

These are signs of an infection.
Emergen-C is actually a multivitamin combination.
The vitamin C in it is known to relieve symptoms of cold.
However, you must undergo tests for infection such as a throat swab.
In addition, an antibiotic sensitivity test is a must.
This will reveal the correct antibiotic to take.
I suggest medicated oral lozenges for your cough.
Take these steps and get back to me if you have any questions.
