Brief Answer: Grandsons illness Detailed Answer: Hello, Thank you fir your question. The symptoms you describe occur frequently in this age group. Firstly, any illness that causes a fever can also potentially cause headache. The stuffy nose has several potential causes. The most common cause is a viral illness which typically resolves on its own after several days. However, it can also be caused by a sinus infection, which could worsen the headache, and would require antibiotic. The post nasal drip if that mucous could cause vomiting. The final symptom you mention, the rattly lungs, could either be related to the sinus infection, or be a symptom of pneumonia, also requiring antibiotic. Putting this all together, there are three possible causes: a viral illness, a sinus infection, or pneumonia. In all cases, fluids, rest, and a fever reducer when needed(ie: acetaminophen, ibuprofin), are all helpful. I recommend consulting with your doctor in order to differentiate between the above mentioned diagnoses and determine if antibiotics are necessary. Regards,
