What Causes Headache, Vomiting, Diarrhea And Fever When Diagnosed With Stomach Flu?

Question: stomach virus 2 weeks ago, started with a tension type headache in back of head with led to vomiting, diarrhea, low grade fever of 24 hours. recovered from all symptoms, but still experience random mild pain in back of head, sometimes temples, forehead and orbital area on and off during the day but not at night when resting. does this need evaluation?

I read your question carefully and I understand your concern.

Judging from your description there doesn't seem to be any indication of a headache related to any brain issues (like tumor, stroke, infections etc) which would require more urgent evaluation. Unless there are other symptoms like progressively increasing headache with nausea and vomiting, speech problems, double vision or visual loss, weakness or numbness in the limbs on one side, balance and coordination issues, fever, major blood pressure fluctuations etc, I wouldn't say there is any cause for alarm and would wait some more.

It may simply be your body recovering from that viral infection, such infections do leave some residual symptoms in the first month. So I would continue with the occasional otc pain killer (like Ibuprofen), keeping an eye on blood pressure fluctuations or any new symptoms like those I mentioned above which would prompt more attention.
