Question : My 10 yr old boy is hypothyroidism. He is taking thyroid med. he has headaches every morn. Could this be due to the medicine? What should his TSH be
Brief Answer:
No
Detailed Answer:
The headaches are unlikely to be due to synthroid.
In general, the TSH target for his age group needs to be closer to 0.5 to 2. However a thorough assessment is required before establishing individual goals for him. This is possible only by a detailed physical examination by a pediatric endocrinologist, who will evaluate his growth, development and other pituitary/hormone related matters.
