Question: I have had a very bad headache that comes and goes for 3 weeks .. combined with ear pain and shooting painsin my temples .. One XXXXXXX (right) is worse than the other .. i feel very shivery and cold but have no temperature and i feel exhausted .. but there is no sign of infection in my ear apparently .. My face feels tight and as if the sinuses are swollen and get tight muscle spasms in my face when the pain is bad .. but there is no infected mucus (green/brown) .. but a thick post nasal drip in the am .... I feel like i have been poisoned .. and sneezing continually .. I think it may be linked to LPR.. as my throat is sore in the a.m too ... but i have no heartburn.. I also feel so hungry all the time ...as if my body id lacking something .. totally confused .. I have a history of Herpes virus (was in my cornea once ...) Not sure if related and has vial meningitis some years ago

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for your query.

1. Get a plain Sinus CT done. This will reveal any chronic sinusitis and the source of the post nasal drip.

2.The sinuses may act as a an infective focus and lead to the feverishness.

3. Since you have incessant sneezing, it will be prudent to take a trial with an anti-histamine, an anti-leukotriene, a steroid nasal spray, steam inhalation and anti-reflux treatment. A multi-nutrient will also help.

4. LPR will worsen sinusitis and a post nasal drip will worsen any reflux.

5. Herpes is a reactivation of dormant chickenpox virus from this common infection in childhood. It is often seen in times of stress and weakness.

6. If you are feeling constantly hungry, thirsty, get your blood sugar levels done.

I hope that I have answered your queries. If you have any further questions, I will be available to answer them.

Regards.

Hi,

Thank you for writing back.

1. Yes, a normal CT and MRI will rule out most tumors.

2. It is now also possible to check for circulating tumor cells and tumor markers with enough accuracy to detect even the earliest tumor cells.

I hope that I have answered your queries. If you have any further questions, I will be available to answer them.

Regards.
