What Causes Headaches Along With Ringing In Ears?

Question: I have been having constant frontal headaches, along with ringing in both ears and intermittently hearing my heartbeat in my right ear for quite a while now. Additionally, I have been experiencing pain behind my eyes, particularly my right eye, along with some blurring and other issues related to my vision (this is intermittent). I have also been experiencing a severe feeling of pressure in my head on and off. In December, I went to my doctor because I had not been feeling well for some time and felt on edge (the only way I can explain it is like the fight or flight syndrome). My blood pressure during that visit was 180/120 and then after being taken a second time was 165/98 or 100. My doctor was concerned because of the myriad of symptoms I was having. He ordered an MRA and it came back negative. I will be seeing him in the next few weeks for a follow-up appointment and am still not feeling quite right. Are there any other tests you would suggest I discuss with him, or do you have other ideas of areas to explore. I keep thinking it's my sinuses. Just not sure.

I have gone through the history thoroughly and understood your problem; I'll try my best to help you with this.

1. You could be suffering from a group of problems such as Sinusitis, Migraine and Accelerated hypertension which are all interlinked.

2. My humble suggestion to you is to consult a good ENT Specialist to evaluate the nose and the sinuses. MRI is not the diagnostic procedure to rule out sinusitis.

3. Both sinusitis and migraine go hand in hand in many patients and in either of the conditions, the blood pressure may shoot up. And vice versa, increased blood pressure can cause headache and nasal stuffiness.

Hence, you require a team of doctors to evaluate your problems and treat accordingly.
