They get worse as the day goes on. The headaches are behind the eyes and on the sides of the forehead. I have no fever, cold or other symptoms other than nasal congestion. Coughing and shaking of the head results in pain. Light and sound do not have an effect on the headaches.
What could the cause of these headaches be, and should I be worried about meningitis or anything else that may be serious?
Rule out sinus related headaches and migraine.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thank you for your query.
1. From your history it seems that the nasal congestion and sinusitis may be the cause of the headaches.
2. If you upload the CT scan Images, I will be able to give you an accurate assessment.
3. The problem with Rhinogenic headache is that it must be differentiated from migraine.
4. A trial of medication for nasal congestion and sinusitis should be prescribed from a local doctor.
5. Relief from these medications will help confirm the diagnosis. Further treatment options can be discussed after the trial results and review of the CT Scan images.
6. There does not seem to be any danger of meningitis at present.
I hope that I have answered your query. If you have any more questions I will be available to answer them.
Regards.
