Question: Hi I'm a 21 year old female and currently am on my period. I know when I get usually hedeache with my period is at the beginning and the end of my period but right now I'm in the middle of my period. I had really bad migraine for a whole day yesterday and continues as soon as I woke up this morning I took my migraine medicine but that makes it worst. I have a question why is it that whenever I breathe very deeply there is a sharp pain the back of my head it feels like stabbing pain and then when I breathe out it disappears. Also I can feel my head throbbing and the pulls of my heart beat and the right side of the back of my head feels kind of hot. Also on the upper left side of my head I can feel like something is full and I feel my heart pulse on the left side ALMSOT close to my forehead as if there is something full, don't know what that is either. My vision I do wear glasses but even that doesn't help sometimes. I have no idea what this is, but if you have any idea or suggestion as to what I should do I appreciate it very much!

Brief Answer:
Take medications as advised and follow precautions

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.
The headache seems to be migraine.
The management plan is as below.
Take timely breakfast and lunch. Avoid fasting. Avoid excessive tea, coffee and chocolates.
Avoid any other triggers if identified.
Take pain killers during acute attack at the earliest as delay may make the drug non responsive.
In case of recurrent episodes, prophylaxis medications like flunarizine, amitriptyline, topiramate, divalproate and propranolol can be initiated.
The aggravation of pain with inspiration is due to heightened sensitivity.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
