Thank you for contacting HCM with your health care concerns

I am sorry to hear that you have been having such a difficult time with your ear adn sinuses. Your hearing has been getting worse and the tinnitus is worsening. I wish we could give you some information that would help but there is very little we can do with this sort of problem. The tinnitus is directly related to ear damage. There is no way to reverse that damage. The best we can do is recommend white noise. As I am sure you already are aware of. This is taking a sound in your house or room like a sound machine or radio that focuses your brain on that sound instead of the ringing. You could get a hearing aid that also puts in white noise into the good ear to help also cover up the tinnitus in the right. This is really all that we can do for tinnitus

Your hearing loss is due to the loss of the ear drum. Only further surgical correction would help. Hearing aids won't because the drum is missing and can't pick up sounds without the drum.

I am sorry I couldn't be more positive for you. I realize how difficult this is because I deal with the same issues.

I hope I answered your question. Please contact us again if you have any additional questions

can I get another tube once the new ear drum patch has healed and become secure? Will the pressure on the new ear drum compromise the healing process from the tympaboplasty? my last visit to the surgeon, he said the eard drum was concave instead of

what further surgery would help?

Brief Answer:
Tubes after eardrum patch

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for returning to HCM with your health care concerns

The only surgery I would recommend is the repair of your eardrum. Once that is complete and healed I would not recommend using ear tubes unless it was absolutely needed. With using the ear tubes you will compromise the patch and could lose it. So once you have the patch try to preserve it the best you can.

I hope that answers your question. Please contact us again if you have any additional questions
