What Causes Hearing Of Loud Sounds And Vision Of Green And Yellow Color?
Question: I have been hearing loud blast at night but, no one else does. I wake up at night and the room is lit up either in green, yellow or orange then stops and, the color becomes normal. This has been going on off and on for over 3 months. Some times the blast is like I have been hit in the back of the head but, there is no pain. I would like to pay and receive some answer as I am now beginning to worry. Thank You , XXXXXXX

I have gone through your question in detail and I can understand what you are going through.
This condition is not very common and will need proper evaluation. The first possibility that needs to be evaluated is seizures. IN sleep the threshold for seizures comes down predisposing you to get one and this may manifest as you experienced. These could be temporal lobe seizures. You will need an EEG to confirm it.
The other possibility if that they could be hypnogogic and hypnopompic hallucinations, which are physiological and normal and can be stopped by getting you good sleep. In this condition people tend to get these experiences immediately when they are about to wake up and againwhile going back to sleep. The best way would be to take sleep meds for a few weeks and then stop them.
So you should go for an EEG and if it comes normal then you may take some sleep meds for a few days and that should see of the problem.
