Question : Hi, I'm 46 female, have had skipped periods on and off for over a year, three weeks ago my breasts started feeling heavy, and very tender..not pregnant. Have hypothyroidism and just was diagnosed with diverticulitis.

Mastitis has to be ruled out.

You must be in your perimenoposal period and that could get the reason for your irregular periods.
At this stage any pain or discomfort has to be evaluated at the earliest.
Though bilateral Mastitis is rare , you heed to get a direct examination to confirm it.

So can perimonposal cause ongoing breast soreness, such a a hormonal imbalance
