                                    Brief Answer:
heaviness on one side of body is most likely due to cervical spondylitis
Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX feeling heaviness on one side of body is most likely due to cervical spondylitis in your mom.
Is there pain/ pain on pressing in neck?
Is there any tingling numbness?
Has she had an x-ray of cervical spine?
Are her vitamin D and B-12 levels normal?
Does she suffer from hypertension?
Is her current blood pressure normal?
Rarely the problem can be from the brain, but let us rule out common causes first.

And if her blood pressure is raised, that could be a cause and should be treated.
If you are not able to get her vitamin tests immediately, put her on --any vitamin D supplement--Cholecalciferol 60, 000 units once a month on empty stomach in morning with milk.
A calcium supplement.
Also any B-12 preparation like Neurobion forte once a day after meals.
Check and treat her hypertension.
