Question: I have heavy periods that last 20 days sometimes and am 47 years old with submucosal fibroids and an FSH of 16, I have anemia (9.5) and my doctor just put me on lo loestrin 10 mcg, what should I expect am on my 4th pill in the pack

Hello, I understand your health concerns.
Loestrin is a good oral contraceptive pill but I'm afraid it might not act to help you much.
Submucous fibroids if symptomatic (excessive and prolonged periods) usually never respond to medical management and hysterectomy is needed most of the times.
Also I would like to see your ultrasound report because in case the submucous fibroid is pedunculated then it can be removed hysteroscopically without the need of hysterectomy.
