Posted on Fri, 28 Oct 2016
Question: Hi
Last night my friend had severe chest pain while sleeping. Pain was so severe that it woke him up. Pain was on his left side right where the chest cage ends. He was sweating but not heavily.
Next day, he felt as if his chest is stretched and mild pain was there all day. He is only 28 but his work is labour intensive. He works 5-6 days in a week. His life style is healthy n active. That was first time he had such pain no family history of heart disease. Someone suggested 1/2 tab of 500mg disprine. What could b the reason n what's cure please.
Thank you

Brief Answer:
Supportive care

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for asking

I read your question and i understand your concern. Chest pain at the age of 28 with no prior history all of a sudden in sleep and resolved to slight stretching and mild pain could be a gastric discomfort like gastritis or acid reflux . Also he labour worker so that might explain the pain as some muscle spasm and could explain it. I would suggest some tylenol instead of aspirin and use some pepto and see if it helps. Modify diet and lifestyle avoid triggers if any like smoking, beer, soda, coffee, tea , chocolates, spicy foods etc.

I hope it helps. Take good care of yourself and dont forget to close the discussion please.
