Hello,
Thanks for the query.
I have read your query and understand your problem.
Although there can be various causes for hiccups but in your case,it appears to be due to consumption of barbiturate which is known to cause hiccups.
FLORICET contains BUTALBITAL which is a barbiturate.
Normally hiccups is not a serious problem and can be managed by simple home remedies like:-
Holding your breath for short time, then breathe out and then again do it for 4-5 times. Do it every 20 minutes.
Drinking ice cold water sip by sip slowly
Gargle with ice cold water
Bite on lemon
Swallowing some granulated sugar
Take tiny amount of vinegar ( just for taste )
Normally these measures are enough to make you all right.
In case hiccups persist for more than 48 hours, then you may need to consult a doctor for prescription of medicines like METOCLOPRAMIDE, chlorpromazine etc.
There is nothing to worry as you should be all right soon.
I hope it helps however, you are most welcome to revert to me for any further query.
Best of luck
Thanks
