3. When was the jaundice first noticed?

Brief Answer:
It is Physiological Jaundice

Detailed Answer:
Dear Mr XXXXXXX

It would have been more helpful if you could have replied to all queries. Total Bilirubin level of 13 is not too high for a baby with weight of 2.8 Kg. It will resolve on its own, there might be some benefit on exposure to early morning sunlight.

I would suggest you the following

1. Continue Exclusive breast feeding
2. Sunlight exposure
3. Watch for deeming of jaundice: Bilirubin level of 13 will only cause yellow discolouration till chest, if the discolouration progresses below it , it denotes increasing jaundice.

I hope the feeds are adequate, baby is sleeping well and urine output is adequate.

Brief Answer:
It is exaggerated Physiological Jaundice

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Dear Mr XXXXXXX

Thanks for the info.
From the chart it is predominantly Indirect component of bilirubin which is raised : It is seen in Physiological jaundice. It may be a bit exaggerated in babies born before due date(Expected date of delivery).Even Though there has been progressive rise in Bilirubin level , do not worry it should settle down.
I would suggest you to repeat a test tomorrow , it will be reassuring to see it decrease.

Wishing you and your family a happy and healthy life
