Brief Answer:
Consult pulmonologist.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic.
I can understand your concern.
Your wife is having high CO2 level. It is due to retention of CO2. It is called as CO2 narcosis.
This suggests worsening of underlying lung disease (COPD) or development of Sleep apnea.
So better to consult pulmonologist for this.
Please let me know
1. Is she obese?
2. Is she having extra fat in neck area?
Please reply me answers of above asked questions, so that I can guide you better.
I will be happy to help you further. Wishing good health to your wife. Thanks.

No, she is not obese, 150 to 160lbs and she is 5'-4". No fat in her neck area. She does have some high blood pressure which is controlled with her BP meds. She had renial cancer and had 1/3 of her left kidney removed about 6 years ago. Her hemoglobin runs low, between 8 & 9. In a scan of her lungs they noted a spot. I am thinking that her pulmunoligist should check that out although no one said anything about it.

I can understand your concern.
No need to worry for sleep apnea.
Possibility of worsening of COPD is more likely.
So CPAP machine is good treatment option for this.
So consult pulmonologist for prescription of CPAP machine.
Yes, you should also discuss about that spot on lung. This may be simple fibrotic lesion or lung metastasis.
