Question : I am having a re occurring health issue for the last year and I don't know what is causing it...For the last year I wake up in the middle of the night with a temperature between 101-103 and uncontrollable chills/shakes. This lasts few hours then goes away. It has happened on at least 15 occasions in the last year at random times.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

I understand your concern. Assuming you have already had a complete check up, had blood panel and urine tests done, undergone a chest x ray and an abdominal ultrasound, I would go for either anemia and poor nutrition in a moist climate, or rheumatoid arthritis.

If neither is a reasonable explanation and you do not have any other symptoms or health concerns worthy of further investigation, I would conclude it is FUO (fever of unknown origin).

I hope this helps. Feel free to ask any further questions you might have.

Wishing you good health and all the best.
