Question : Hi Doctor ,
My daughter is 18 months old suffering from caugh, today morning she had fever 104 we gave caplol 1 ml now fever comedown but she is now coughing lot and omitting, omitting white bulgum omitting after every meal plz suggest medicin for her.

Welcome to HCM. Can understand your concerns.

Symptoms of fever and cough are suggestive of upper respiratory tract infection.

Give paracetamol syrup 15 mg/kg per dose for fever. Give chericof cough syrup 5 ml three times a day for 3 days.

For vomiting you can give ondem Syrup 4 ml empty stomach.

If vomiting still persists then examination by Pediatrician should be done and antibiotic like cefpodoxime will be needed.

Paracetamol syrup contains 125 mg in 5 ml. The dose of paracetamol syrup is 15 mg/kg per dose.

Suppose weight of child is 10 kg. Then dose would be 15 *10=150 mg. 150 mg means 6 ml needs to be given.

Please tell me the weight of the child, I will tell you the exact dose.
