Question : Hello.
I'm trying to fall asleep since 2 hours but I can't because of my high heart rate.. (96)
I sometimes also have problems with low blood pressure but it never kept me from falling asleep before.
Is there anything I can do to lower it?
Should I worry?
Thanks

Brief Answer:
Deep breathe/drink icy water/avoid salty/spicy/chilly foods...

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,

I have gone through your medical history carefully and I can assure that it is nothing worrisome.

I advise to:
- take deep breath (inhale deeply through nose, keep for a while and then exhale through your mouth
- drink icy water
- I understand you eat salty foods to increase your bp, but, I advise to avoid too much salt as it might cause increased heart rate
- avoid spicy/chilly/oily foods

If no improvement, should discuss with your physician to take low dose of a beta-blocker (e.g. atenolol) to control heart rates.

Hope it helped!
