Brief Answer:
IN 5 % OF WOMEN, MIGHT OCCUR IN SEVENTIES.

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for writing to us with your health concern.
I totally understand your concern.
Hot flushes are common in post menopausal women due to hormonal deficiency.
Your concern also is valid, as they commonly occur in the years that just follow menopause.
Only in less than 5 % of women, they might manifest later on, in the sixties or seventies, and in my opinion, this is what is happening to you.
That could also explain the shortness of breath and chest tightness.
You need to consult a gynecologist and see if a short course of hormone replacement therapy makes any difference.
The breathing trouble should not be ignored and you should have a formal respiratory and cardiological evaluation also at this age to rule out any lung disorder / heart ailment.
All the best.
Please feel free to discuss further.
