Question : I am 48 and I have had perimenopause symptoms for a year . No sleep anxiety hot flashes etc. My periods have been 24 days for last year and I am 10 days late and so my first skipped period and I am worried abt it being cancer or something else wrong. I made an appt for a month out to see if I miss another one. I don't have any symptoms of bloating or pain. But I am worried

Hi

Since you are having hot flashes and your periods are being irregular i would recommend you do a CT scan of whole abdomen and blood test for CA 125.

To prevent hot flashes you can keep your bedroom cool at night. Use fans during the day. Wear light layers of clothes with natural fibers such as cotton.
Exercise daily. Walking, swimming, dancing, and bicycling are all good choices.

For anxiety I suggest you try antianxiety pills like (alprazolam) after food at night for 2 weeks.
