What Causes Hypotension While On Viagra, Losartan And Terazosin?

Question: I took a 100mg Viagra without thinking. Two hours prior I had taken my evening meds which include a 50 mg Losartan and a 2mg Terazosin. Now blood pressure is 94/62. I am 70 year old male, 220 pounds with no major health issues. Drank some salted water to help. Any danger or anything else I should do?

Hello sir

I understand your concern for your health and I would like to tell you that Viagra (sildenafil) which is a powerful vasodilator is contraindicated to be taken with Nitrate group of drugs as this combination is prone to cause severe hypotension.

The drugs which you were taking does not belong to Nitrate group which is a news of relief however they are antihypertensives so there could be a slight risk of hypotension which you are already having with a Bp of 94/62.

So I would like to tell you that just relax don't take stress and most importantly keep monitoring your blood pressure every 3 hrs for 24 hrs just to keep an eye on blood pressure. Don't worry you will be fine. You have taken a right thing by drinking salt water.
