Brief Answer:
Visual errors in the eye...

Detailed Answer:
Hi

Thanks for posting the query.

Our body is balanced because of the various inputs given to the brain. Brain is fed with the inputs from eyes, skin and the nerves. When the inputs to the brain are distorted, the brain reciprocates with wrong actions. Hence, whenever there is a mismatch in the information sent to the brain, the balance gets altered and the individual falls.

In your case, the shiny and reflective floors provide a very complex visual environment, which can overload your balance system. Your balance system works best when it can take visual cues from things close by, but in these situations you are using your depth perception more than usual. Hence, your brain has to deal with this conflicting information between your balance senses, which can result in dizziness and unsteadiness.

My suggestion to you is to consult either an ophthalmologist or a neuro-ophthalmologist. Your eyes require a thorough evaluation and the further treatment can be planned accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query; I'll be available for the follow up queries.
