Question : My 9 year old daughter had a 100 degree fever last night and today has a pounding heart. Now her fever is normal but still her heart is pounding. Is this normal as a reaction to a virus or should we go to the doctor to have her heart checked?

                                    Brief Answer:
At 90, no need to get worried!
Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you so much for this query.
I am so sorry to hear about the fever your child had and the inconveniences this increased heartbeat has caused the entire family. A heart rate of 90, though higher than the expected average of 74, is not concerning. We get concerned when this rate exceeds 100. With no more fever, I will recommend that you continue putting an eye on her and only seek further medical attention if something new comes up but for now, there is no reason to do so.
I hope this helps. I wish you well. Thank you so much for using our services and do feel free to ask for more information if need be.
