Question: I am a 63 year old female and I have never had a weight problem always weighed between 120 and 125. Last winter I started putting on weight and now I weigh a whopping 160. A little background I lost my husband in 2011 whom I loved with all my heart. I am a man in my life now who is absolutely wonderful and I love him dearly. Anyway I have tried Nutrisystem I exercise I have even taken appetite depressants from my Doctor and still no luck. I don't over eat and my only vice is a XXXX once a day.

Brief Answer:
Rule out hormonal disturbances

Detailed Answer:
Hi dear, I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.
Weight gain can be due to many causes like stress, depression, physical inactivity and hormonal disturbances like hypothyroidism or Cushing syndrome.
I will suggest you to get your thyroid hormone levels and serum cortisol levels done to rule out the hormonal disturbances.
If these are normal, then I would suggest you to adopt lifestyle changes like exercise, jogging, avoiding fatty food, and try to be stress free.
Hope you found the answer helpful.

Wishing you good health.
