What Causes Increased White Blood Cells In Urine?

default
Posted on Sat, 24 Jun 2017
Question: I had white blood cells in my urine at my doctor's appt. I also have pain and swelling in my right armpit. Recently I noticed a large unexplainable bruise on my right upper arm. I have had a mild headache for several days. My neck is slightly tight and hurts a bit. I have an unusual red mark on my right leg that itches. It had a deep red/black scab and I scratched it off accidently. It still itches. My mammogram in Dec. 2016 was fine. I haven't felt great in many months, very fatigued and achy. I do not sleep soundly at night. Occasionally I feel hot and clammy, but do not have a fever, sore throat or cough. My A1c today was 6.3 (high). What could this all be?

Brief Answer:
Urinary tract infection, vitamin k difficiency or blood disorder

Detailed Answer:
Dear Ms, I have gone through your question and I understand your concerns . The increased white blood cells in urine indicates the presence of a urinary tract infection that is usually a bacterial infection. I would recommend that you get a urine culture and sensitivity test to identify the appropriate antibiotic to treat your infection.
As for the painful lump in your armpit, the unexplained bruise , not feeling well and the painful neck , I would recommend that you get a CBC test to exclude the presence of blood diseases as leukemia . Another cause of the unexplained bruise could be vitamin k difficiency. so I would recommend that you take a test for vitamin k level in your blood.
As for the itchy scab, it could be an insect bite that caused a minor allergic reaction, you can apply an antihistaminic ointement on it three times daily.
I hope I answered your question.
