Posted on Thu, 8 Oct 2015
Question: Why at night so I feel so anxious and uneasy? Come dusk I begin growing more and more anxious until I get a deep seeded fear to point of the inability to sleep.
I also am diagnosed with bipolar type II, if relevant.

Brief Answer:
comorbidity with bipolar disorder.

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Welcome to HCM.

I can understand your concerns.

There could be few reasons for increasing anxiety in the evening:
1. Post-Work Stress

2. Morning Distractions with work are actually an important tool for relieving anxiety.

3. Late Night Associations with stressful events.

Anyhow, bipolar disorder is commonly comorbid with anxiety disorders.

I would suggest you to consult your psychiatrist for this. These attacks of anxiety in evening can precipitate depression.

You might need a medication/dose change to relieve anxiety.

Other than this, i would also advice you to practice relaxation exercises in evening, listening to soft music, taking a warm water bath.

Hope this helps.
Take care.
