Question : Dear Doctor, I have typical discomfort on the left side of my mouth near the joint of lips, kind of gums of top canine teeth sticking to cheeks bit of on the canine jaw. I find it difficult to speak especially from the affected side. I have done teeth cleaning in February by dentist. It is kind of discomfort not a pain exactly and feeling of side of lips sticking together on left side. Also, there is a typical odd taste in mouth. Please advise.

I have gone through your query , you have discomfort on Angle of mouth were lip joins , difficulty in speaking there is nothing to worry it can be inflammation of lip due to bacterial or fungal infection . This inflammation on corner of lip can be due to some other factors which includes as you have history of tobacco chewing it can be Tobacco pouch keratosis . - It can be due to Nutritional deficiency ( Vitamin B deficiency , iron deficiency). - Allergy or Irritational . What I will suggest you that you can Apply ointment Hexigel on painful corner of lip two to three times a day. -You can take Vitamin B 6 , B 12 supplements one capsule once daily. - You can take Vitamin A supplements one daily . -Do Chlorhexidine mouthwash twice daily . Thanks doctor. I have done examination of oral cavity by dentist twice. And more recently on 06.04.14 by general surgeon. And I told them about the raw tobacco and lime i used not the gutkha which is more XXXXXXX I stopped it 06 months before. Both the doctors told me not to worry and body will start reversing the tobacco effects slowly. Also, this started after I have done the teeth cleaning by dentist.
