What Causes Insomnia After Taking Temazepam?

Please provide more detail, do not take temazepam more
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
thanks for writing to us.
You are suffering from Major Depressive Disorder and insomnia. Insomnia is one of the symptom of depression.
In treatment of depression initially benzodiazepine like temazepam is given for symptomatic improvement however main medicine is an antidepressant. If underlying depression is treated well , sleep disturbance is going to stop on its own.
In your case Effexor is an antidepressant. Recommended dose of Temazepam is 30 mg around. So you are taking already high dose. Please do not take it without your doctor's advice as it is benzo and withdrawn of it can be serious if you are on very high dose.
To help you more specifically, please revert back to me with following details.
Since when are you suffering from depression?
Sleep disturbance was there before or with depression?
Current sleep problems since when? How sleep is disturbed? --Initiation difficulty, Comes in fragment or early awakening? Quantity and quality problems?
Was temazepam effective before? What dose your doctor has recommended?
At which time of the day do you take effexor?
How is your depression right now?
At present you can have a cup of warm milk before 15 minutes of going to bed. It may help in good sleep?
Waiting for your reply.
Regards,
Dr.Chintan Solanki.
