These medications usually do not cause insomnia
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for asking.
I am Dr. Prakash HM and I will be answering you query.
Looking at the clinical history and query, my opinion is as follows:
1. Both of the medications are not known to cause insomnia. However, ropark is known to cause sudden sleepiness.
2. Postural hypotension is seen with syndopa plus. Due to this, you might get dizziness during change of posture. If you change your posture slowly, dizziness should not be there as body will have time to adjust.
3. If your blood pressure is lower than 100/60, then you will require to increase it through pharmacological and non-pharmacological measures. If its above that, not to worry. Take plenty of fluids.
4. For insomnia, avoid any medications and try non-pharmacological therapies initially.
a. Avoid caffeine, alcohol after four in the evening
b. Maintaining regular bedtime and waking up time everyday.
c. Avoiding long sleeps in afternoons. Short nap is OK
d. Maintaining relaxing routine before bed time like reading, meditation or warm bath will help
e. Regular moderate exercises in the morning
f. Reduced fluid intake 4 hours before bed to avoid sleep disturbances
g. Reduced light or noise in bed room. Avoid watching TV, atleast two hours before going to bed.
Try this for a month and it should show results.
Hope it helps.
Any further queries, happy to help again.
