Brief Answer:
There is nothing to worry about!

Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Welcome on HCM!

Thank you for asking on HCM!

I understand your concern and would explain that the pain you feel seems to be related to inflammation.

You should know that when screaming the air gets out of our airways with pressure, leading to inflammation.

All this is a temporary situation and you will recover spontaneously.

There is nothing to worry about!

Hope to have been helpful!

Kind regards,

Dr. Iliri

Brief Answer:
I would recommend as follows:

Detailed Answer:
Hello again!

I would recommend painkillers like ibuprofen three times daily for the pain.

Besides, aerosols with normal saline or steroids would help calm down the inflammation.

Meanwhile, I would recommend avoiding going out in the cold air, to avoid further irritation or airways mucose.

You should be patient, because it may take some weeks to recover.
Hope you will find this answer helpful!

Best wishes,

Hi Dr. Iliri,

Here is me again. Yesterday after our talk I applied some ibuprofen cream on my chest, took some paracetamol (I can not stand ibuprofen) and pain was releived. But then I started feeling some weakness in chest and my breahing was affected so I could not sleep at all already 24 horus. Then I got something like burning in chest and throat.... and discomfort in my chest/throat.

Are all these symptoms indicative of inflamation....Steroids I also don't stand....

Please advise...

Regards

Hello again!

I understand your concern and would explain that all your symptoms are related to inflammation.

I would explain that paracetamol has no antiinflammatory effect. Its main action is as painkiller and lowers high body temperature.

If you can not stand ibuprofen, I would recommend taking other anti inflammatory drugs like naproxen, ketoprofen, diclofenac, indomethacine etc. (if you don't have any stomach problems). You can take them twice daily to feel better during all the day.

Regarding steroids, I would explain that aerosols can be done with normal saline (which acts like a damping for the airways) or with steroids which can be diluted in normal saline in the aerosol. It act calming inflammation.

Hope you will find this answer helfpul!

Dr. Iliri

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Inflammation could been investigated by performing some lab tests like: complete blood count, PCR, ESR, etc.

Also by a careful physical exam of the affected area (oropharyngeal area, etc).

Meanwhile, try to use any of the recommended medications.

Kind regards,

Dr. Iliri

Brief Answer:
Consulting with your doctor would be helpful.

Detailed Answer:
Hello!

I totally understand your situation.

I think that a consult with the lung's doctor would help confirm inflammation and exclude other possible causes like a possible infection.

A chest X ray study and some blood lab tests (complete blood count, PCR, sedimentation rate) would be helpful in determining the cause.

Meanwhile, I recommend to follow my advice and take some anti-inflammatory drugs.

I am always here at your disposal for any other uncertainties.

Best wishes,

Dr. Iliri
