Question: I am 53 yr old woman. I have had MRI with IV contrast and PET scan to determine if I have metastatic bone cancer. I am currently suffering with swollen, itchy, painfully irritated vaginal lips. It is extremely painful no matter what I do. I have not had sex in many months as it is also painful. Can you provide me with any ideas.

Brief Answer:
It can be due to yeast infection

Detailed Answer:
Hi dear and thanks for your query to HCM

I have read your question and understand your health issue.

All the sign and symptoms you mention can be due to yeast infection.
Hence you should talk with your GP for a therapy with antifungal such as fluconazole tablets for three days or canesten cream for five to seven days or other treatment.
During this time try to :
do Sitz baths with betadine
use probiotics
use cranberry teas

Please feel free to ask other questions.

Best regards
