Brief Answer:
Can be due to hormonal imbalance.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for trusting us with your health concern.
The brownish discharge that you have can be a left over blood from the previous periods. It can be due to a mild hormonal imbalance related to perimenopause. You can wait and see if it subsides on its own. In case the discharge is persistent then do consult your gynecologist for an ultrasound scan and PAP smear or colposcopy to find out the cause.
Please feel free to discuss further. I will be glad to answer the follow up queries that you have.
Wishing you good health.
Regards.
