Question : I am having abdominal pain which is on and off. I completed Dr's medicine course of 3 dAYS of ornidazole combination. He has now advised to take Vibact DS pre and Pro biotic capsules. He says I had an infection of colitis and it should go away. I am scared, please advise
Brief Answer:
Hi, do not worry
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thank you for the query.
I understand your concern.
Well likely short duration abdominal pain to be some food borne infection which is commonly termed as colitis.
As you have already completed the course of antibiotics likely it will settle in some time.
Can try additional medicine like mebeverine 135 mg thrice a day for 3 days an mild antispasmodic which is easily available over the counter.
If pain persist then worthwhile getting complete blood count, stool examination, and an sonography of abdomen to look into the problem.
Hope this answers your query.
Wish you a speedy recovery.
Happy to help.
