Hello,

Welcome to Healthcare Magic.

I read carefully your query and understand your concern.

It is important to when did these episodes stared (recently or have been happening for long time) and if this burning sensation is associated with redness and warm feeling like flushing?

If these episodes of burning sensation in ears and head are associated with objective changes like the ears and face becoming red and hot ,most likely these are episodes of flushing. This usually happens due to increased circulation of blood in head.
Some common causes are high blood pressure, hyperthyroidism ,medication like thyroid hormone. These episodes are common in menopause and after menopause in women taking hormonal therapy.
Since you are taking Synthroid and Estrogen , it is possible to be due to them.
This doesn't require any treatment.

If your symptoms include just burning sensation in head and ears ,without any objective change (red ,hot skin) you may need to consult a physician for a more detailed evaluation.
In this case this might be related to a nervous problem.
Some neck condition or conditions that affect cranial nerves should be excluded.
If these sensations have started recently (months to years) and the episodes are getting worse and frequent ,you may need to consult a physician and get examined.

Hope it helps.
Let me know if you have any other question or doubts to clarify.

Kind regards,
Dr.Rovena Murati
