Question: 25 year old male. Having random chest pains on and off for a week in the center of my chest to the bottom of my sternum. Seems to mostly occur at night in bed. The pain is dull but constant. Lasts anywhere from 10 min to an hour. What can I do? What is likely causing this

Brief Answer:
Anxiety attacks.

Detailed Answer:
lo,

Thank you for using Healthcaremagic to post your question.
I read it carefully and I understand your concern.

What you are describing looks like anxiety attacks.
In your age and the way how they are happening, I don't think it is a problem related with the heart.

So, my recommendations are:
- When the attack happens, get out in the fresh air, and breath deep and slow. It is normal to last how much you describe.
- Try to address the anxiety problems in your life (for up to 6 month), and talk with someone or do something to cope with.
- Consider doing physical activity- 20min at least 4-5 times/week.
- Do activities that help you feel better, like reading books, going out with friends and entertaining in a healthy way, ect
- In case there get very frequent, consider seeing a local doctor so they can prescribe you medicines.

Hope this is helpful.
Let me know if you need more clarifications.
