What Causes Intermittent Itchy Patches And Lumps Under Skin?

default
Posted on Wed, 8 Jul 2015
Question: My boyfriend has been getting these little red blotchy patches for the last 6 months or so. They come and go within 3 days or less. Sometimes they itch and he usually gets about 3 or 4 randomly. He will also get large lumps under his skin that come and go as well. Doing my own research I am thinking it is petechiae but I am not sure. He also just had a blood test done recently that showed his platelets are low, could be the cause? If so, what can he do to raise his platelets levels. I have pictures if needed. XXXX!

Brief Answer:
Its looks like petechia.

Detailed Answer:
Hi, dear
I have gone through your question. I can understand your concern.
He has petechia. It can be due to low platelet count or may be due to some other cause.
Please send me your reports of platelet count so that I can help you further. If his platelets count is only slightly decreased then it could be due to some other cause. If it is very low then it can be due to low platelet count.
So please send me reports of platelet count.
Hope I have answered your question, if you have doubt then I will be happy to answer.

I am currently at work so I am not able to get his records. Is their anything he can do to raise his platelet levels? Does he needs to get tested for leukemia or wouldn't that have shown up when they did the blood test?

Brief Answer:
Leukemia can be diagnosed from routine blood test.

Detailed Answer:
Hi, dear
I have gone through your question. I can understand your concern.
Leukemia can be diagnosed by routine blood test. Treatment depends on cause of disease. So whenever you get time please send me report of complete blood count. Monitoring of platelet count is very important. Because if it goes below 10000 then life threatening bleeding can occur. In that case platelet concentrate can be given but all depends on platelet count.
Please send me your reports.
Hope I have answered your question, if you have doubt then I will be happy to answer. Thanks for using health care magic. Wish you a very good health.
